IIM Ranchi believes in the holistic development of its students. We impart value-oriented education that stresses humility, honesty, and hard work. With assistance from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and the Government of Jharkhand and operating under the direction of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi was founded in 2009. In addition to more than ten courses, IIM Ranchi offers the following degrees: MBA, PhD, Executive PhD, Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Management, Emeritus Fellowship in Management, EXECUTIVE MBA, CPGM, MDP, CPBABI, FDP, EPBABI, and IPM. The total number of seats offered to the students is 250 for the MBA program. Admission to this program is based on the entrance exam - CAT.

The IIM Ranchi MBA step-by-step admissions process for the 2025–27 batch is shown in the following stages:
Stage 1: Application Process
To get admission into IIM Ranchi, interested candidates will have to fill out the CAT application form, and apply to the IIM Ranchi as per their interest.
Stage 2: CAT Exam
Candidates have to appear for the CAT 2025 Exam.
Stage 3: Shortlisting for Personal Interview
The candidate will be shortlisted by the IIM Ranchi for PI based on the marks obtained in the CAT cutoff.
Stage 4: PI Process through CAP
The personal interview would be conducted virtually through CAP.
Stage 5: Final Selection
The candidate will be finally selected by the institute based on the scores obtained in CAT, PI, and the profile of the candidate.

IIM Ranchi Scholarships:
The Indian Government offers a number of scholarship program through its various ministries and groups for the benefit of students. The National Scholarship Portal of the Government of India has a list of all national-level awards. This webpage is where prospective students can submit their scholarship applications.
PhD candidates receive total financial and other support from IIM Ranchi:
- Four years’ worth of financial assistance with the potential for an extension with the committee’s consent.
- For the duration of the program, there are no tuition costs. Both single and married, bachelor students are welcome to stay for free on campus. Accommodations for married people may include things like availability.
- Students who are married and wish to rent a two-bedroom flat will be required to pay half the rent. All extra expenses, including those related to power, water, and housekeeping, will be the responsibility of the students.
- For the first two years, a stipend of Rs. 30000 a month is provided. The monthly stipend will increase to Rs. 35000 per month for the duration of the programme after passing the comprehensive exams at the conclusion of the second year.
- Resources, stationery, printers, pen drives, electronic equipment, internal/external hard discs, and other products can be purchased with a contingency grant of Rs. 100000. With Rs. 50,000, a computer, software, and other accessories will be bought for the first or second year.
- For presenting papers at four national and one international conference within the first four years, financial assistance and a conference grant are provided.
