Here is the list of JEE Advanced Most Important topics:

Physics:

If you want to achieve a good score in physics, then master the concepts. The physics section requires a strong hold on concepts. Topics carrying heavy weightage in JEE Advanced Physics section are following:

  • Mechanics-

It is one of the most important topics of JEE Advanced. A major chunk in the examination is from this topic and if you want to score well in JEE Advanced Examination, then you must efficiently complete all aspects of this topic specially Newton's Laws of Motion, Universal Law of Gravitation, the Law of Conservation of Linear Momentum. Do spend enough time studying Fluid Mechanics, Bernoulli's Equation and Elasticity.

  • Electrostatics, Current Electricity and Magnetism-

Have you completed Coulomb's Law and Capacitance yet? If no, then make them your priority as these topics carry a lot of weightage in the JEE Advanced Examination. don't get confused and use fundamentals to avoid complications. Also, cover the theoretical aspects of this topic. At times theory-based questions are also asked from this section. Mug up all the formulas of electrostatics and magnetostatics.

  • Thermal Physics and Sound Waves-

A lot of questions will be from this section too. You can come across questions including a mix of calorimetry with the laws of thermodynamics. While preparation do remember to practice such kind of questions along with calculations of work, internal energy, and heat in various processes. Doppler Effect is another important section of this topic.

  • Optics and Modern Physics-

It is one of the easiest topics in the syllabus. Practice Optics thoroughly and be confident about securing full marks in it. Do not forget to cover Hugyen's principles and Bohr's model and memorize the formulas.

  • Experiments-

Experiments like error analysis in Vernier calipers, screw gauge will also be asked in JEE Advanced examination. Do practice such questions.

Chemistry:

The Chemistry section comprises of three sections i.e. Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. All three of them carries the same weightage but Inorganic Chemistry is the most scoring portion.

  • Physical Chemistry-

Its quite an easy topic and is more about understanding the basics and applying the right formula at the right place. Concentrate on Chemical Equilibrium, Kinetics, Electrochemistry.

  • Organic Chemistry-

To score well in Organic Chemistry focus more on Electrophiles, Nucleophiles, types of reaction, acidity, basicity etc.

  • Named Reactions-

A major portion of Chemistry section consists of Named Reactions. You require to know the Mechanism of reactions to solve the problems of this section. Thoroughly learn all the named reactions with exceptions.

  • Inorganic Chemistry-

Refer NCERT Book for this section and concentrate on Chemical Bonding to s,p,d,f, block to metallurgy. Numerous questions are asked from p-block making it the highest weightage carrier in Inorganic Chemistry.

Mathematics:

  • Calculus-

The one-third of the Mathematics paper of JEE Advanced examination is from calculus. Topics like functions, limits, continuity, differentiability, differentiation, application of derivatives, integration, definite integrals and differential equations are most important.

  • Co-ordinate Geometry-

Just understand and master Circles, Parabola, Hyperbola, Ellipse. These are really scoring portions.

  • Vectors and 3D Geometry-

It is one of the easiest topics and will score you a lot of marks as it is used problems pertaining to vectors.

  • Algebra-

It is one of the hardest section and students face a lot of problem in solving them. The only key to it is, the more you practice it.

  • Trigonometry-

Trigonometry formulas are used at numerous places in JEE Advanced examination. The questions based purely on trigonometry would be rare but might be numerous questions involving standard trigonometric identities. Do remember to thoroughly memorize all the standard formulas.

Focus on the above-mentioned topics and keep a positive approach towards your entrance examination.

Stay calm and dedicated! All the best!
