Here are few quick tips which will surely help you in qualifying NEET 2018:

  1. Understanding the syllabus:

The candidate must thoroughly know the detailed syllabus of NEET 2018. Though the syllabus is as vast as the ocean, but a planned preparation will surely help you in qualifying this examination. Some important topics which require extra efforts are:
    • Physics- Mechanics, Optics, Thermodynamics and Nuclear Physics.
    • Chemistry- Mole Concepts, General Organic Chemistry, Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding, Coordination Chemistry.
    • Biology- Ecology and Environment, Genetics, Cell Biology, Morphology, Reproduction and Physiology of Plants and Animals, Basics of Biotechnology.
  2. Study Material:

Selecting the best study material is one of the most difficult tasks. Before switching to other books make sure that you have thoroughly completed the NCERT books. NCERT books focus on the basics and clear the concept. Once you are done with NCERT, you can seek guidance from teachers and online experts and choose the perfect book for yourself. You can also read the interviews of previous year toppers and perceive an idea about their preparation style.
  3. Effective Timetable:

Figure out the chapters and plan topics where you need more or fewer preparations. Divide your topics and accordingly prepare a timetable for yourself. Most of the time students make timetable but they hardly follow it. You can always take 5-10 minutes short breaks in every 1-2 hours of studies but avoid wasting time on unnecessary things.
  4. Focus on your weaker areas:

It is obvious that there would be some topics in which you would be master but don't ignore your weaker areas. Try to strengthen topics in which you are not confident. You can also take help from friends, seniors or take an extra class for that subject which will help you in improving those topics.
  5. Mock Tests and Previous Years question paper:

In the NEET Examination student needs to complete 180 questions in 180 minutes i.e. the maximum time you have for each question is just One Minute. To complete the paper timely you need to practice more and more. Practice mock test and previous year question papers regularly and try to finish them in the given time. Don't waste too much time on questions which you find difficult to solve. Rather than wasting too much time on single question try another question. Once you complete your practice test, try to analyze your mistakes and work on them. Solving previous year papers will give you a detailed idea about the exam pattern and weightage of topics.
  6. Stay Healthy and Positive:

Try to get enough sleep and don't overburden yourself. If you prepare a well-planned timetable and follow it religiously, then you will not be stressed. The effectiveness of your learning process entirely depends on your attitude towards it. Keep a positive approach towards your goal and stay focused rather than getting confused.
