IIT Kharagpur Admission 2025

IIT Kharagpur has created an admission process for all the levels of courses offered by IIT Kharagpur. It has its admissions, entrance exams, as well as the selection process. IIT Kharagpur Scholarships

Students at IIT Kharagpur have access to a variety of scholarships from external organizations, alumni, tuition fee waivers from the institute, pocket allowances, and so on.

There are numerous prizes in the form of endowments, and the Merit-cum-Means scholarship pattern has more than 1000 recipients.
These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to students in order for them to be able to access housing, research facilities, academics, international travel (for research or competitions), and entrepreneurship.

IIT Kharagpur Infrastructure Details

As the campus of IIT Kharagpur is spread over a huge area of 2100 acres, the facilities available here are immense. The campus is a mini self-sufficient ecosystem with education, accommodation, recreation, food, groceries, and utilities all available within. All the faculty members and staff reside on campus in accommodations provided by IIT Kharagpur. Accommodation for visitors and guests is also available.

There are 4 schools within the campus so that children of the staff and faculty members do not have to travel long distances. There is a daycare center, so that spouses of staff and faculty members have the option of pursuing professional interests outside the IIT Kharagpur if they wish to. There are separate dormitories for boys and girls. All hostels have high-speed Wi-Fi and LAN access. Every hostel has a kitchen and a cafeteria.

IIT Kharagpur Academic Buildings

IIT Kharagpur has around 19 academic departments, seven multi-disciplinary centers/schools, and 12 schools apart from the 25 central research and development units. IIT Kharagpur has a main building that houses the majority of the lecture halls, administrative offices, and three auditoriums on either side.

In 1951, the library is said to have a collection of almost 2,499 books. The Central Library is said to be one of the largest of its type. The collection here includes almost 30000 books as well as documents.

The library of the college has almost six halls and a section that is exclusively kept for SC and ST students. The library’s collection maintains books, reports, conference proceedings, standards, DVDs, CD-ROMs, and AV material. The library’s transaction service is said to be automated. The students can search for the material through an Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).

The Nehru Museum of Science and Technology has around ninety-nine indoor exhibits that are said to include technical models which are collected from institutions all over India. The park that is located outside the museum is said to contain almost 14 open-air demonstrations as well as outdoor exhibits. museum has an archive room, showing documents relating to the history of the institute and the West Midnapore district. The Rural Museum, located in the Rural Development Centre of the institute, has a collection of exhibits in local culture.

Placement: A good number of students are placed through our CDC with decent packages. Department wise, CSE gets the best placement offers, but ECE, Industrial Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Instrumentation Engineering is also good.

Faculty: Mathematics teacher Bibhas Sir. Along with stating the theorems, proofs and formulas, he also gives their practical applications. This makes maths very enjoyable.

Admission: State / National Entrance Exams

Club: Dramatics for obvious reasons. Social Cultural activities are always the numero uno choice for students as they are engaging, enjoyable and stress relieving.
